Short-term volunteer opportunities (2 weeks to 3 months)
Mission builders serve at the YWAM base supporting our ministries and long-term missionaries through practical jobs such as construction, maintenance, kitchen and some ministry activities. We will do our best to place you in a working environment that suits your abilities and desires while simultaneously helping us meet our current needs.
As a Mission Builder, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our long-term missionary members and develop meaningful relationships, gaining insight into full-time service. Mission Builders can serve for as little as 2 weeks and as long as 3 months. After 90 days, we encourage you to consider taking the next step with Youth With A Mission and to participate in our Discipleship Training School.

Opportunities for after DTS Volunteering (2 weeks to 3 months)
If you’re a graduate of a YWAM Discipleship Training School and only just begun “knowing God and making Him known,” prepared to go anywhere and do anything for the sake of the call. Where do you go next?AfterDTS gives you the opportunity to explore the possibilities through short-term volunteerism within YWAM. AfterDTS gives you the flexibility to experience the many service opportunities available in YWAM before you make a staff commitment.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER MISSIONARY MEMBERS (minimum 2 years):
Missionary members join our team for full-time service with a longer commitment. We look for the best area of service according to the base needs, the experience, giftings and interests of each person. As a member of our missionary team you will grow in leadership, service and different abilities. Time at YWAM Nicoya can also be a preparation time for global missions, especially among the least reached people groups of the world.
All YWAM members worldwide are required to be at least 18 years old and to have successfully completed a YWAMDiscipleship Training School (DTS); all of our full-time missionary member positions require a minimum two year commitment. All of our positions are non-paid volunteer positions. To join YWAM full-time anywhere in the world, you need to have your own financial backing to cover your personal and travel expenses and to pay a monthly volunteer fee of $300 USD if you live on base (including meals) or $75 if you have your own housing. All of our missionary members depend on God's provision and have a support team whose members participate by prayers and financial support.
All our volunteer missionaries serve the common mission of the base, willing to help where help is needed to strengthen our basic ministries and functions. Right now we are specifically needing people in the following areas:
